The Dodgers shut out the Sluggers 4-0 on Sunday to win the CABA World Series at Cene Park.

Dodgers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning as Daniel Holtzman singled and scored on Ian Huss’ triple. A ground out sent Huss home with the second run.

Holtsman had three hits.

Isaac Hersberger went the distance for the mound victory, tossing a five-hitter.

Sluggers 11, 1080 Media 6

Sean Lubin and Dan Popio each had two hits for 1080.

In the semifinal, Sluggers scored three times in the first inning. 1080 responded with two runs in its first at-bat as Lubin scored on a Popio single. Popio then scored on a wild pitch to slice the Sluggers’ lead to 3-2.

Trailing 10-2, 1080 scored three runs in the fifth inning as Jim Dobran, Lubin and Popio had two-out hits.

Named to the all-tournament team were: Kyle Hagerich, North Coast Vipers; Kyle Tisdale, 1080 Media; Sutton Whiting, Ohio Glaciers; Darwing Ereu, Michiana Scrappers; Conner Mathias, Stark Terriers; Kevin Bernay,Chardon Blizzard; Ryan Ekberg, Dayton Dodgers; Jake Renkenberger, Sluggers; and Daniel Holtzman, Dayton Dodgers.

Other awards went to: Taylore Baker, Vipers, best pitcher; Renkenberger, batting champion; Holtzman, MVP; Jordan Hinton, Michiana Scrappers; and Jake Neuschaefer, Vipers, Mister Hustle.
