The Youngstown Campus of National College is having a career fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday. The event is open to the public and free for both job seekers and prospective employers.

Participating employers available will include WEST Corp., InfoCision, VXI Global Solutions, Verizon Wireless, Mahoning County One Stop, Hiram College, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Sam’s Club, Comfort Keepers, Gateway to Better Living, Robert Half and PTI Industries.

2 killed in car crash

SOUTHINGTON

Two men were killed in a car crash on state Route 305 early Sunday.

About 1:30 a.m., Mark Sanders, 26, of Warren, was driving a Honda Civic on state Route 305 near Painesville-Warren Road. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Sanders lost control on a curve, and his Honda went left of center and hit a Chrysler Voyager minivan. The Honda then went off the side of the road, overturned through a ditch and came to rest in a yard.

Both Sanders and his passenger, Logan Sanders, 19, of Garrettsville, Ohio, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 37-year-old driver of the minivan and his 14-year-old passenger were treated for minor injuries at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital and released.

Motorcyclist injured

AUSTINTOWN

A 54-year-old man was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center after overturning his motorcycle early Saturday.

Paul Himes, of North Lima, was traveling from Interstate 80 in Austintown onto state Route 11 southbound when the accident occurred about 2:30 a.m., the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Details on Himes’ injuries were unavailable.

Campbell house fire

Campbell

A large fire at a Campbell home caused thousands of dollars in damage but did not cause any injuries.

A kitchen fire broke out at 153 Bright Ave. about 5 p.m. Saturday, according to the Campbell Fire Department.

Firefighters quickly put out the blaze, and they estimated $25,000 in structural damage and $5,000 in damaged contents.

Motorist arrested

BROOKFIELD

Ronald Wilcox, 52, of Brookfield was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving early Saturday after his vehicle hit a stopped car on state Route 7 just south of Yankee Lake.

Wilcox’s vehicle hit the back of a car driven by a 23-year-old Youngstown man about midnight. The man’s car had broken down, and a 20-year-old Hubbard man stopped to help. The Hubbard man was working in between that vehicle and his own when Wilcox’s vehicle hit the Youngstown man’s car, seriously injuring the Hubbard man, who was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, according the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Wilcox, who was not injured, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
