Stones celebrate 70th anniversary with their family

A visit from out-of-town relatives highlighted the 70th anniversary celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Stone of Youngstown.
Friends and family marked the event on July 11 at Park Vista.
Present for the celebration were their daughter Darleen Minnich and her husband, Mike, who live in Gambrills, Md., and granddaughter Melissa Minnich, who lives in Pittsburgh. Another daughter, Linda Taylor, is deceased. The Stones have two other grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Stone and the former Wilda Joyce Craig were married July 11, 1940, at Calvary Baptist Church in Youngstown.They are members of Pleasant Grove United Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Stone has competed in the Senior Olympics for 25 years on the local, state and national levels.
Mr. Stone worked as a milkman for Isaly Dairy and Superior Dairy in Youngstown before he retired in 1976. He is a member of Chatterbox and has competed for 24 years in the local, state and national Senior Olympics. He served in Europe from 1943-1945 as a member of the U.S. Army.
