1418 Auxiliary Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Brownstone Court, 50 Struthers-Coitsville Road, with John Texter presiding. Cancellations must be made by Monday to Sandy Redeske at 330-755-5192. Any call after that date will not be accepted. There will be an annual picnic, and refreshments will be served. Birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged, and cards and bingo will be played. Illnesses or deaths should be reported to Ann Banyots at 330-783-2019.
AARP 4611 will sponsor a trip to Amish Country in Sugar Creek, Ohio, on Sept. 11. A deposit of $25 is due before Aug. 11. The cost of the whole trip is $55. Ajax Magnethermic retirees will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Station Square, 4250 Belmont Ave. Guests are welcome.
Canfield Chapter 3104, AARP, will have an annual picnic at 1 p.m. Monday at Canfield Presbyterian Church. Those whose last names begin with A-H are asked to take a salad; and I-Z, a casserole. Members are to take a table service and serving utensils. Entertainment will be by Salem Square Wheels. Girard Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the center, 16 N. State St. August birthdays and anniversaries will be celebrated, and a short video will be shown. Cake will be served. Reservations can be made for the annual corn roast, to take place at the center on Aug. 18. The cost is $6.
Lowellville Senior Citizens will meet at noon Friday in the conference room at Lowellville City Hall. Reservations or cancellations are to be called in to Janet Davanzo at 330-793-3176. A picnic lunch will be provided by Phyllis Nolfi of Gianna’s Catering. July and August birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged, and bingo will be played. Members are asked to take a donation for gift baskets for shut-in members. Illnesses or deaths should be reported to Mary Mascarella at 330-536-8748. The next meeting will be Sept. 3.
Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Douglas Martin will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. St. Christine Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the parish center with Ruth Infante presiding. Reports will be presented by Mary Jo Theis and Carol McClain. Lunch will be served by Ann Smith, Nancy Olsavsky, John Zitello and Frances Tomaskovich. There will be a 50-50 raffle and attendance prizes. August birthdays will be observed, and bingo and cards will be the diversion.
St. Nicholas Senior Citizens will have a luncheon meeting at 11 a.m. Aug. 10 in Great Hall. Laverne Cox will preside. Reservations are required and can be made until Wednesday by sending a check for $8 made payable to St. Nicholas Seniors to Lora Opsitnik, 138 Iroquois St., Struthers, OH 44471. New members are welcome.
Sts. Cyril and Methodius Seniors will meet after the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Aug, 12 at the social hall, 252 E. Wood St. A brunch will be served at noon, birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged and bingo will be played. Reservations are to be made by Aug. 9 with Jack Ziemianski, 330-782-1848. SOAR 27-2 and 27-6, Steelworkers Retirees, Local Union 1330 and 1331, will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at the Italian-American Veterans Centre, 113 S. Meridian Road. Refreshments will be served. New members are welcome. There will be no meeting in September.
Youngstown State University Retirees will have a breakfast at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Denny’s Restaurant on Route 224, Boardman. All retirees are welcome.
