Mrs. Joan Cochran to celebrate birthday

Mrs. Joan S. Cochran, a lifelong resident of Youngstown, will celebrate her 101st birthday Tuesday during a series of events planned by her children, their spouses and her 11 grandchildren.

She married Lucius Davis Cochran on April 19, 1941, and they had five children.

In addition to being involved with her family, Mrs. Cochran has had an abiding interest in Youngstown and is considered somewhat of a historian. She is a bridge-player, a prolific reader, book reviewer, column writer and arts editor. She has been a member of many clubs and has sat on several boards.
