Johnsons mark golden event with children

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Johnson of Struthers celebrated their 50th anniversary on July 16 with their children, Julie L. Johnson of Poland and Beverly (Scott) Rine of Carrollton, Ohio, during a dinner at Hartville Kitchen.

Mr. Johnson and the former Kathryn Boyer were married July 16, 1960, at the former Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church of West Austintown. They are members of the Struthers Presbyterian Church and its Upper Room Class.

Mrs. Johnson is a homemaker. Mr. Johnson served two years in the Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., in the 423 Army band. Mr. Johnson retired in 1999 after 30 years with Packard Electric.
