1080 Media rallies in CABA

1080 Media rallied to defeat the North Coast Vipers, 10-9, on Saturday to remain alive in the CABA baseball tournament at Cene Park.
The winning run was scored on a wild pitch. Sean Lubin had four hits, scored a run and drove in two.
The Vipers jumped out to an early lead with two runs in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a RBI single by Kyle Hagerich.
1080 scored in the third inning when Justin Vrable singled home Matt Shelton.
The Vipers thought they had put the game out of reach with six runs in the bottom of the third for an 8-1 lead. Key hits included a two-run single from Ian Mezlak and a two-run double by Hagerich.
1080 made it a game by scoring five runs in the fifth inning.
The rally was capped by a two-run single from Luke Horew. 1080 tied the game in the seventh thanks to Matt Harmon’s hit.
For the Vipers, Kenny Rundo had three hits, scored a run and drove in two.
Also Saturday, 1080 Media defeated Michiana Scrappers, 12-4.
Six runs in the second inning were too much for Michiana to overcome. Kyle Tisdale and Matt Harmon had key hits.
The Scrappers scored four times in the third inning thanks to doubles by Louie Grounds and Darwig Ereu.
1080 added six more runs in the next two innings. Lubin and Vrable each had three hits.
