VexFest sets date and seeks bands
YOUNGSTOWN
VexFest, the annual free all-day outdoor rock music festival in downtown Youngstown, will be Aug. 15.
About 50 bands and other acts will perform on multiple stages during the event, now in its seventh incarnation.
Bands and other entertainers interested in performing can submit an electronic press kit at www.sonicbids.com/vexfest.
Submissions will be accepted until June 15.

Short-film festival at Lemon Grove
YOUNGSTOWN
The Lemon Grove, 122 W. Federal St., downtown, will hold a short-film festival at 8 p.m. June 6.
All submissions will be screened, as long as they are original (not previously submitted for a class, festival, or other event); no longer than 25 minutes; and made in Youngstown.
There is a limit of one submission per individual or group.
Submissions are due by midnight May 30.
Digital copies can be brought to the Lemon Grove (addressed to Jacob Harver or Josh Cretella.)
Films will be shown and then graded by secret audience ballot.
The winner will receive a $100 Lemon Grove gift certificate.
