Poland Middle School student council members got a taste of politics when they accepted an invitation by Commissioner Anthony Traficanti to spend the day with commissioners and council members April 1.
During the day, students got to tour the Mahoning County Courthouse, attend a budget meeting, have lunch and hear a historical explanation of the painting in Judge R. Scott Krichbaum’s chambers by attorney Jon Thompson.
The students received introductions during each meeting and Joe Risi and Pheobe Bush led the Pledge of Allegiance and opened the meeting for the commissioners.
