The red carpet and velvet ropes were in place April 23 as fathers escorted their daughters to Market Street Elementary’s annual Father Daughter Dance.
The night began with the students leading their fathers to the dance floor for a slow dance. The tempo was quickly picked up as everyone participated in a modified version of musical chairs.
Due to the large turnout, there weren’t enough chairs for the musical game, so instead of sitting in chairs when the music stopped, everyone plopped to the floor. The fathers were also introduced to the cha-cha slide.
The dance was from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and fresh fruit, cookies and small sandwiches were served as a light snack for the couple.
As a keepsake, each father-daughter couple had photos taken that they will receive later.
