Illness forces cancellation

NEW CASTLE, PA.

The opening weekend of “Brigadoon” at New Castle Playhouse has been canceled, due to the illness of one of the cast, according to Rosemary Aven, office manager. She did not say which cast member was ill.

Originally scheduled for three weekends, “Brigadoon” will now open May 7 and run for only two consecutive weekends. The playhouse has to return the rental costumes after the final show on May 16 and therefore could not tack on an extra weekend, explained Aven.

The playhouse plans to call all ticketholders with reservations for opening weekend in order to reschedule. Ticketholders also can call the playhouse at (724) 654-3437.

Curtain times for “Brigadoon” will be 7:30 p.m. May 7, 8, 14 and 15; and 2 p.m. May 9 and 16.
