A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:
HUBBARD
April 22
Theft: A student at Reed Middle School, 150 Hall Ave., reported the theft of a cell phone.
Arrest: Newton Falls police held Keith W. Sarrach, no information provided, who was wanted by the city on a charge of failing to appear for a violation-of-probation hearing. The original charge was receiving stolen property.
April 23
Assault: A woman reported her 10-year-old son had been assaulted at Reed Middle School.
April 24
Damage: An East Park Avenue woman told police neighborhood kids damaged her swimming pool and shed.
Assault: Police responded to a bar fight on South Irvine Road.
Burglary: Someone entered and took an undisclosed sum of money from Deer Creek Golf Course, 7760 E. Liberty St.
Bad check: A worker for Hubbard Gas & Mini Mart, 175 Youngstown-Hubbard Road, reported cashing a check later determined to have been from a closed account.
April 25
Criminal mischief: A vehicle in the 30 block of Princeton Avenue was vandalized.
Theft of services: A Caroline Avenue woman reported seeing a man in an orange vehicle illegally dumping items in a trash bin.
April 26
Auto theft: A Forest Hills Drive man told officers someone stole his sister-in-law’s vehicle then wrecked and returned it.
Burglary: To a home in the 800 block of East Liberty Street, where the front door had been forced open.
LIBERTY
April 20
Theft: A cover to a car’s hubcap was stolen in the 200 block of Goldie Road.
April 22
Auto theft: A 1993 Chevrolet vehicle was stolen in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.
April 23
Theft: A woman in the 400 block of East Montrose Avenue reported a $700 computer and related accessories missing from her residence.
GIRARD
April 22
Menacing: A woman and her two children at a Girard residence reported having been threatened during a custody dispute.
Menacing: A man told police that a Woodlawn Avenue man threatened him when he went to the residence to collect on a bill for snowplowing services.
April 23
Theft: An East Liberty Street man reported a global-positioning-system unit and a phone charger stolen from his truck.
Theft: A woman discovered a $200 gold engagement ring missing from her home in the 500 block of Trumbull Avenue.
April 24
Theft: A man moving from his residence in the 1000 block of Ward Avenue found out some checks he had discarded were retrieved and cashed at a Hubbard business.
Theft: An East Main Street woman said a man stole her cell phone during an argument.
April 25
Arrest: Authorities picked up Bobbi L. Oehler of Girard in the 400 block of North Ward Avenue on a warrant from Girard Municipal Court and took her to the Trumbull County Jail.
April 26
Assault: A worker with a Girard business reported an East Wilson Avenue woman had been punched in the arm.
Arrest: During a traffic stop on U.S. Route 422, police charged Brian R. Fetty, no information given, with possession of drug-abuse instruments, obstructing official business and several traffic violations. Fetty, who also was wanted on warrants, had two hypodermic syringes, one of which contained suspected heroin, a report said.
Breaking and entering: Police took Kenneth C. Pavlick, no information provided, into custody on an outstanding warrant as they answered a break-in at a residence in the 100 block of East Liberty Street, from which copper piping and two radiator heating vents had been stolen. He was not charged with the break-in, however.
Criminal mischief: Someone removed several pickets from a fence at an East Main Street home.
April 27
Theft: A teacher at Girard High School, 31 N. Ward Ave., reported a wallet stolen from her purse.
