Racism event

WARREN

YWCA Warren is having a Stand Against Racism event on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at 375 N. Park Ave. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Mayor Michael O’Brien will present a proclamation from the City of Warren and WFMJ/WBCB Director of Community Relations Madonna Chism-Pinkard will lead a racial awareness exercise. Ankle and Foot Care Centers invites local diabetic patients, between 20 and 90, who have a diabetic foot ulcer that has not healed within at least 30 days, to participate in a study of a palm-sized device that disperses concentrated oxygen onto the wound to promote healing. Patients can wear the Epiflo beneath their clothing for 24 hours a day without affecting their own activities or the device.

Participants will be equipped with an Epiflo and a standard wound dressing, but half of the units will be nonworking. The study lasts up to 12 weeks. Treatment is free to patients and travel expenses will be reimbursed. For more information, call (888) 881-8805.

Howland SCOPE is offering “The Psychology of Aging Well” by Dr. Edward Amicucci, Ph.D., on Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. beginning May 4. Public open house

A public open house is from 2 to 4 p.m. May 8 at Partners for Urology Health, 6262 Mahoning Ave., at which Hall of Fame football player Joe DeLamielleure will present a speech on prostate cancer education and sign autographs. DeLamielleure was an offensive lineman for the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns.

Annual dinner
