Champion 4, LaBrae 1

CHAMPION

Lindsay Swipas (7-0) had 14 strikeouts and one walk while throwing a three-hitter. Swipas also had two singles while Hayley McAllister, Mackenzie Kiser, Alison Sorber and Tawny Rogers had a single apiece for Champion (15-0, 7-0 All-American Conference Blue Tier). Jessica Buck, Lindsey Moon and Chelsie Hartman each had a single for LaBrae (8-0, 3-3).

Girard 15, Brookfield 1

GIRARD

Kiley Kulon tripled and doubled to drive in five runs for the Indians (15-6, 6-1). She also scored five runs. Chelsea Guerrieri’s three hits included a double. She scored twice and drove in two runs. Melissa Weitzman and Briana Jay also had doubles. Winning pitcher Lisa Holmes (13-5) struck out seven and walked none. For the Warriors (3-12), Caylin Corns drove in the run.

Newton Falls 4, Niles 0

NILES

Bailey Shade had 14 strikeouts and pitched a no-hitter to lead Newton Falls past Niles (17-4). Shade also had three hits in the game, including two doubles. Lindsey Bates pitched all seven innings, striking out eight and walking one for Niles.

Mooney 2, Beaver Local 1

BOARDMAN

Mooney used small ball against Beaver Local, getting the win in the bottom of the seventh inning. In the fifth inning, Margo Ucchino bunted to reach base then tagged and scored on a popup to second to give Mooney a 1-0 lead. After an RBI single by Beaver Local (8-13), Vickie Farris singled, moved to second on an error and scored the winning run on a walk-off double by Shayla DeCapita. Winning pitcher Cadi Sheffler and Jamie Clausen combined to strike out 15 and scatter four hits for Mooney (16-2). Farris and DeCapita each had two hits.

Ursuline 7, Liberty 1

BAZETTA

Casey Lower had 10 strikeouts and no walks during a two-hitter. Sarah Ingalls had home run and single and three RBIs. Malikka Caige had a double and single for Ursuline (13-4). In the bottom of the seventh inning, senior Shelbie Stefanski doubled and senior Alison House had an RBI single for Liberty (5-10).

Lakeview 9, Warren Harding 4

CORTLAND

Alyssa Nicholas, Alexis Neumeister, Haley Ball and Raelynn Burns doubled while Lexi George tripled for the Bulldogs. Ball drove in three runs and Nicholas two. Neumeister picked up the pitching win, striking out 11 and walking five. For the Raiders, Ashley Bucos homered and Sam Bumgardner.

South Range 2, East Palestine 1

NORTH LIMA

The Raiders took sole possession of first place of the Inter-Tri County League Tier One after the 11-inning victory. The Raiders (10-0, league) looked to have the game in hand, but a two-out solo home run by Logan Gatchel tied the game in the seventh inning. South Range’s Madison Yanek and East Palestine’s Karly Pence each pitched complete games and combined for 17 strikeouts (11 and eight, respectively). The game-winning hit came off the bat of Emily Seman, who had three hits and an RBI. The Bulldogs are 8-1 in the league.

United 2, Springfield 1

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Emily Bokanovich doubled and scored both runs for the Golden Eagles (7-9, 5-6 ITCL Tier One) in the eight-inning contest. Hillary Hoppel hit a RBI double while Natalie Henchroth had the other RBI. Winning pitcher Krista McCartney had seven strikeouts. For the Tigers (8-10, 7-4), Sam Frye doubled and scored. Elyssa Burkey had five strikeouts in the seven innings she pitched.

Jackson-Milton 17, Wellsville 1

NORTH JACKSON

Lindsey Knipp had 11 strikeouts and gave up just two hits to lead Jackson-Milton. Caitlin Carney, Taylor Dugan and Katie Santor each doubled for the Blue Jays (8-7, 4-5 ITCL Tier Two). Dugan drove in three runs, while Carney and Knipp each drove in two.

Western Reserve 2, McDonald 0

MCDONALD

In a pair of six-hitters, Western Reserve’s Ashlee Grim had nine strikeouts and one walk and McDonald’s Kaitlin Rutushin had eight strikeouts and four walks.Maggie Stubbs had an RBI-double, while had Cassie Burchett had two singles for Reserve (13-4, 10-0 ITCL Tier Two). Junior Alyssa Hutzler had two singles for McDonald (9-4, 8-2).

Lowellville 14, Leetonia 4

LOWELLVILLE

Brooke Pallozzi led the Rockets (11-6, 5-3 ITCL Tier Two) with two doubles and two RBIs. Cori Pavlicko’s three hits included a double and brought home two runners. Lena Notereschi had four hits and two RBIs.

Southern 8, Sebring 0

SALINEVILLE

Rachal Coli tripled and Marla Pitts doubled for the Indians. For the Trojans, Emily Dickens doubled.

Boardman 13, Canton McKinley 0

CANTON

Pitchers Julie Sokil and Alex DiDomenico combined for a no-hitter, and were backed up by 12 Spartans hits. DiDomenico hit a home run, and was 3 for 3 from the plate. Brooke Meenachan had two hits.

Hoover 7, Fitch 3

AUSTINTOWN

Stephanie Berdis had two hits for the Falcons (7-7, 2-4 Federal League). She homered and drove in three RBIs. Haley Martinelli and Alana Callahan also had hits for the Falcons. The Vikings are 15-2, 5-1

Southeast 4, Norton 0

NORTON

Emily Gahagan doubled for Southeast (12-3, 4-3), which scored once in the third and three more times in the fourth.

Kayla Williams (10-3) threw a five-hitter for the Pirates. Colleen Brady and Chelsey Gable each had a double for Norton (9-3, 4-3).
