Collision avoidance

CANFIELD

Some students were jostled during a sudden stop by a school bus trying to avoid a collision Tuesday morning.

Schools Superintendent Dante Zambrini said a bus with a load of students was cut off at the intersection of Shields and Messerly roads by another driver. The bus driver, he said, hit the brakes to avoid a collision, jostling some of the students.

The bus driver pulled over to make sure the students were not injured, and a deputy sheriff, seeing the bus pulled over, stopped to assist, but no report was taken.

Zambrini said the school’s nurse attended to the students to make sure no one was injured. He said parents will be notified about the event.
