Officer shoots fugitive who pointed gun
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A police officer in Pittsburgh shot and wounded a fugitive who pointed a gun at two members of a fugitive task force.
Pittsburgh police say a detective shot 26-year-old Dominick Howard in the leg after Howard pointed a gun at the detective and a Deputy U.S. Marshal who were looking for him.
Authorities say Howard pointed the gun at the officers and told them he would take them with him. The detective shot Howard, who dropped the gun and was taken to a hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
Howard was wanted on probation violations. He faces more charges including aggravated assault in Monday’s incident.
