Man gets 14 to 35 years in stab death at party

READING, Pa. (AP) — A man has been ordered to serve 14 to 35 years in prison in the stabbing death of a guest at a party last summer.

Twenty-four-year-old Andrew Geisinger of Richmond Township pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and related counts Monday shortly before jury selection was to begin for his trial in Berks County Court.

Police said Geisinger stabbed 22-year-old Kristoffer Schildt to death with a steak knife July 13 during a party in Muhlenberg Township.

Prosecutors say he and four other males and a female who knew the host of the party showed up at the gathering between 3:30 and 4 a.m. By 4:50 a.m., authorities said, the group was asked to leave, and Schildt was trying to help the host get them to leave when he was stabbed.
