Girard, Salem split twinbill

The Girard and Salem High baseball teams split a doubleheader on Saturday. The Indians won the opener, 7-5, before falling 7-4.

A two-run fifth snapped a 2-2 tie and put Girard over the top in its win. Patrick Rhodes relieved Dan Graziano in the fourth and got the save.

Tallon Birmingham had two RBIs while Mike Floravit and Brandon Hunkus each had an RBI.

Nick Lesky had two hits and two RBIs for Salem.

In Salem’s win, Nick Lesky and Mike Risbeck accounted for a run apiece for the Quakers (6-11). Kyle Richey knocked in three runs for Girard (13-6).

COLUMBIANA

Tristan Reynolds had a triple and single for three RBIs while Adam Coppock had a triple and scored three times for the Rebels. Tom Marnejon had two hits and two RBIs while Logan Schaefer had a double and two RBIs. Matt May pitched the five-inning three-hitter.

In the 10-0 win, Coppock went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and scored three times, Tristan Reynolds knocked in three runs and Brian Orr, Marnejon and Brandon Brooks had two RBIs for Crestview (8-10). Orr had three hits.
