Funds available in Trumbull for various housing repairs

Assistance with private-owner housing repair in the Bolindale (Howland Township) and Dover Street (Warren Township) areas is available, as well as mortgage-payment assistance.

A total of $300,000 is available through the Trumbull County Planning Commission and Trumbull County Department of Job and Family Services.

Recipients cannot have a gross household income above $43,450 for a four-person household or $34,750 for two-person household.

Assistance money also is available countywide — except for Girard, Newton Falls, Niles and Warren — for upgrade of rental housing units. The landlords have to contribute 25 percent of the upgrade costs.

Residents of Girard, Newton Falls, Niles and Warren should check with officials there for similar programs.
