Early College recruiting freshmen

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown Early College, located on the Youngstown State University campus, is now recruiting its freshman class for this fall.

The school is rated “excellent” on its state’s local report card, and open enrollment is still being offered.

Parents of current eighth-graders can attend informational meetings scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Choffin Career & Technical Center, 200 E. Wood St.

Applications will be available, but parents need to be aware that only students meeting two of the following four criteria will be eligible: first-generation college student, a minority student, students with untapped potential and students from lower-income homes.
