Abundant Life Fellowship of New Waterford has canceled its free community dinner this month and instead will be participating in a Bash Cancer Spaghetti Dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Crestview High School, 44100 Crestview Road. This is a fundraiser to help with expenses of several area residents who are battling cancer. It also includes volleyball games from noon to 4 p.m., cornhole tournaments, raffles and a silent auction. New Waterford United Methodist Church is coordinating the dinner.

Sonshiners Quartet

HARTFORD

The Sonshiners Quartet will perform at 6 p.m. Sunday at Hartford Community Church, 3312 state Route 7. The public is invited to attend. There is no admission fee. An offering will be taken.

Community garden

Youngstown

Teens will build a community garden at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, near the tennis courts at 1 p.m. Sunday. The project is part of Youngstown B’nai B’rith Youth Organization’s “Stand Up!” campaign. The teens will begin preparing the dirt and planting.

Pastor anniversary

Greater Liberty Baptist Church, 66 Tenth St., will celebrate the first anniversary of Pastor Carl A. Anderson and first lady Sharon Anderson at 7 p.m. nightly Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Rev. C.A. Richmond, pastor of Logos Baptist Church in Canton, will be the speaker. Various area choirs will sing. The anniversary celebration will conclude with two services May 2. Rev. Tommy Higgins of Akron will deliver the message at 10:45 a.m. and Rev. Melvin Brown of Gospel Temple Baptist Church of Campbell will be the speaker at 3:30 p.m.

Anniversary revival

Fellowship Baptist Church, 102 Penn Ave., will have a church pre-anniversary Revival of 75 years at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Friday. The guest speaker is Elder Ronnie Tucker of We Walk By Faith Bible Church and Pastor R. Martin of Price Memorial A.M.E., both of Youngstown, and Pastor Jackson of St. John A.M.E. of Struthers. The host is Pastor Rev. Larry W. Parker.

Day of Prayer

Crestview High School, 44100 Crestview Road, will be the site for a National Day of Prayer service at 7 p.m. May 6 in the auditorium. Sponsored by Crestview Churches Community Concerns, the service will include members of Crestview High School Band, a vocal piece by Angie Drohn, Boy Scout Troop 40 and flag presentation by American Legion Post 290.
