McCarthy signs with Broncos

Former ND safety Kyle McCarthy has agreed to a free agent deal with the Denver Broncos after not being selected in Saturday's NFL draft.

"It was an intense process," he said. "I was a little frustrated not getting drafted but I'm used to digging myself out of a hole and climbing back up.

"Hopefully I can make an impact on Denver's team."

McCarthy, a standout safety for the Irish, led the team in tackles the past two seasons.
