HOWLAND

Joe Aulizia’s RBI single scored Kenny Pozega with the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th in the first game. Pozega was hit, then advanced to second on a passed ball. Starter Chris Maze (3-0) went five innings before returning in the 10th. Maze gave up 11 hits, but struck out seven and walked four. Corey Hickman had three singles, while Adam Shrodek and Aulizia had two apiece for Howland. Canfield had 13 hits, including three by Ross and two each by Angelo, McGivern and Benson. In Canfield’s 5-1 win, Vrabel had two doubles, while Hoelzel had a double and single. Kesner and Harmon gave up two hits apiece in a combined four-hitter. Kesner pitched the first 51/3 for Howland (9-6, 2-2 AAC Red Tier). Aulizia, Matt Preston, Brandon Neilan and Nick Marino had a hit apiece for the Tigers.

Hubbard 9, Salem 0

HUBBARD

Jarrod Seech had a no-hitter through six innings, but it was broken up on a single up the middle. Seech (3-1) had seven strikeouts, and was helped out by an offense that had 14 hits, including six doubles and a triple. Mike Lopuchovsky had two doubles, while Matt Shelton, Tommy Jackson, Tim Schiraldi and Kory Hopkinson each had one. Shelton also had a triple.

Niles 7, Beaver Local 2

LISBON

Evan Bollinger pitched a four-hitter, giving up just one earned run with six strikeouts and no walks for Niles. Joe Livi homered, while Bollinger had two hits and scored twice and Mike Watson also had two runs.

Campbell 7, Girard 3

CAMPBELL

Campbell was trailing, 2-0, until senior Josh Gore’s three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth put the Red Devils ahead for good. Gore also had two singles for the Red Devils (4-4, 4-1 AAC Blue), while sophomore Anthony Clinkscales had a double and single and also stole three bases. Senior Raul Pizarro (3-0) had five strikeouts. Leadoff hitter Mike Floravit had a bunt single and a gap-shot single and one RBI for Girard (13-5, 4-2 AAC Blue Tier).

LaBrae 2, Brookfield 1

BROOKFIELD

Nate Ball scored on a passed ball with two outs in the top of the ninth to lift LaBrae (5-9, 3-2 AAC Blue) in a game that was scoreless after seven innings. Greg Gibson (1-1) struck out 14 over eight innings with one walk to get the win. Gibson and Mike Morris each added two hits. Brookfield is 6-7.

Springfield 7, Crestview 0

COLUMBIANA

Sophomore Nick Russell (3-2) tossed a four-hitter with seven strikeouts in the seven-inning game. Dylon DeJane had two singles for an RBI and the senior also scored two runs; Aaron Yoder, a junior, had two singles and scored a run and Jason Horn, a junior, had a two-run double for Springfield (12-4, 7-2 ITCL Tier One). Coppock doubled and Moore tripled for Crestview.

McDonald 7, Mineral Ridge 4

McDONALD

Senior Anthony Raschilla’s three-run homer in the second inning knocked in freshman Mike Raschilla and Mike Helco, a junior. Raschilla had four RBIs. Mike Gatta had a double and the senior center-fielder also added a single and finished with two RBIs. In his first varsity start, sophomore Brandon O’Neil (1-0) gave up eight hits and struck out four. Ferguson and Frayer had two hits and an RBI apiece for Ridge.

Southeast 15, Windham 1

WINDHAM

Anthony Pennington singled, tripled and drove in three runs for Southeast (3-10). Joey DeJacimo pitched a three-hitter. Windham is 0-10.

Lisbon 8, United 6

HANOVERTON

Josh Cook singled, double and scored twice, Cody Helman had a double and an RBI and Zac Barnes singled and drove in two for Lisbon, which scored six runs in the top of the seventh on Thursday Josh McLaughlin had three singles and Bubba Creer three hits, an RBI and a run for United.
