Two of the many cats housed by Second Chance Animal Rescue wait patiently for play to get under way at a bingo fundraiser scheduled for May 7 at the Saxon Club. Proceeds from the event will benefit the shelter and provide supplies for the care of animals awaiting adoption.

AUSTINTOWN

Second Chance Animal Rescue will sponsor a bingo fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. May 7 at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, to raise funds for the shelter.

Various vendors will offer cash-and-carry items and will take orders. The vendors will be donating a portion of their sales to the shelter and will provide the prizes for bingo.

Admission is $5, which includes a sheet of three bingo cards and a door prize ticket. Additional bingo cards may be purchased for $1 each, and a free bingo card will be given in exchange for supply donations for the shelter; limit of one free card per person. Supplies needed include tall kitchen trash bags, paper towels, dish soap and laundry soap.

Bingo players are asked to take pennies and dimes to mark their bingo cards; daubers will not be permitted. The coins will be collected at the end of the evening for the shelter.

There will be food for sale, a 50/50 drawing and a Chinese auction. No one under 18 will be permitted.

The money raised will help to provide care for animals awaiting adoption and will supplement spay/neuter and trapping programs. For more information visit the shelter Web site at www.secondchanceanimalrescue.org or call (330)-505-3575.
