Donations can now be texted for Flight 93 memorial in Pa.

SHANKSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — The organizers of a national park in Pennsylvania dedicated to Flight 93 are now accepting donations via text message to help complete the memorial project.

The Flight 93 National Memorial Campaign announced today that people can text the word “memorial” to 90999 to make a $10 contribution to the project. Ground was broken last year on the memorial in western Pennsylvania.

Flight 93 was traveling from Newark, N.J., to San Francisco when hijackers took it over on Sept. 11, 2001. Passengers fought to get control of the plane and the hijackers responded by crashing the aircraft in a western Pennsylvania field, killing everyone aboard.
