Dinner to benefit Canfield sophomore

A pasta dinner and Chinese auction to benefit Garrett Schenker will be held Sunday from noon to 4:30 p.m. at St. Michael’s Family Life Center, Route 46 in Canfield.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for children 10 and under and no charge for children 3 and under. Carry-out is available.

Schenker is a sophomore at Canfield High School who was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Doctors were able to remove 85 percent of a tumor located on his neck, near his carotid artery.

He is currently undergoing extensive chemotherapy at Akron Children’s Hospital.

Proceeds from this event will help defray the costs of his medical bills.
