Cardinal Mooney students to participate in Saturday cleanup in Brier Hill area

YOUNGSTOWN — Fifty students from Cardinal Mooney High School will join volunteers from Lien Forward Ohio Regional Council of Governments in picking up trash and debris alongside U.S. Route 422 and the 711 Expressway ramps from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

The students are among 200 local teens participating in United Way Youth Day of Caring service projects.

The cleanup area extends from the 711 ramps to the former Sharp Lumber site near the Girard-Youngstown border. V&M Star will provide refreshments for the students. Lien Forward Ohio coordinated two litter collections last year.
