Canfield track teams third at county meet

The Canfield boys and girls varsity track and field teams earned a third-place finish behind Austintown and Boardman in the Division I competition at the 98th annual Mahoning County Track Meet Saturday.
County champions for the girls were the 4x800 relay of Jillian Smith, Nicole Tiberio, Jen Love and Emma Lunne in a time of 10:30.54.
Lunne finished second in the 3200 with a time of 12:07. Kelly Fening took third in the 3200 with a 12:28 and fourth in the 1600 with a time of 5:55.75.
Tiberio took third in the 1600 with a 5:50.78. Smith earned second place in the 800 (2:32.17). Love earned third in the 800 (2:32.95).
Smith, Tiberio, Love and Jackie Podolsky came in second in the 4x400 relay (4:32.67). Leanna Hartsough was second in the high jump (5-2).
Dustin Brode won county titles in the shot put (66-5) and discus (184-6). Both are new county meet records and also new school records. He was meet’s MVP.
Jonathan Hutnyan was third in the 3200 (10:29.03) and 1600 (4:59.90). Luke Stefanides, Christian Anzuini, Nick Tocicki and Ryan Mirto earned third place in the 4x800 relay with a time of 8:52.95.
Mirto ran the 800 in 2:07.11, earning second place.
Tom McGrath, Alex Carrocce, Steven Hamilton and McClusky took third in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:42.93. Richard Rapone was second in the high jump with a jump of 6-0 and Hartsough earned third in the high jump with a 5’-10.
