Broadway comes to St. Charles School

The Great White Way will come to Boardman when the St. Charles School Drama Club presents “A Little Bit of Broadway,” a two-act show featuring 21 songs from various Broadway shows.

The show will be presented Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. and May 2 at 3 p.m. There will be an all-school show May 3 for students at the school.

More than 60 students from fourth through eighth grade are involved in the production, directed by a parent team comprised of Brian Blasko, Mary Therese Driscoll and Jennifer Kuczek.

Selected numbers feature choreography by Heidi Bizon with musical direction by Stacy Anderson.

“This is my first year involved with St. Charles’ drama club. Having worked with youth theater groups before, I am delighted with their level of talent,” said Anderson.

The show includes live music accompaniment provided by student teacher Lindsey Kendra.

“We wanted to give the students a little lesson in Broadway as we brought this show to life,” said Kuczek. “When you think of Broadway, so many songs come to mind and it was a challenge to narrow our song list. We think the audience will be pleased with our final selections.”

Admission is free, but donations to the club are welcome. Concessions will be available before and after the show, as well as during the 15-minute intermission. St. Charles School is located at 7325 Westview Drive, just off Route 224, west of Market Street. For information, call Jennifer Kuczek at 330-518-4064.
