Ticket raffle set

YOUNGSTOWN

Rookery Radio, a new student internet radio project to start this fall at Youngstown State University, is selling raffle tickets for two seats to the Elton John concert.

Tickets, $5 each, can be purchased from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Monday at Maag Library and Tuesday at Kilcawley Student Center. For information e-mail rookeryradio@gmail.com. The winner will be announced at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Fedor Hall, Room 0013.

Author to sign his historical book

BOARDMAN

Dr. Robert Zorn, superintendent of the Poland School System, will sign and discuss his book, “Poland,” at 2 p.m. Saturday at Barnes and Noble, 381 Boardman-Poland Road.

Zorn worked closely with the Poland Historical Society to compile this photographic history of Poland, once an important stagecoach stop on the highway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

Free health program for youths at YWCA

YOUNGSTOWN

The YWCA of Youngstown, 25 W. Rayen Ave., is sponsoring a free program, “Talk About Diabetes to Youth,” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 29 at Oakhill Renaissance Center, 345 Oakhill Ave.”

The educational event is designed to teach children about diabetes. It will include a nutritional session, exercises, line dancing, healthy snack preparation, and door prizes.
