POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:

April 16

Menacing: A worker with a Bev Road business reported getting a threatening voice mail.

Fraud: A Baymar Drive woman found out her credit card had been used without authorization to make $47.53 worth of purchases at a Boardman-Canfield Road business.

Theft: A $50 makeup bag was stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Annawan Lane.

Theft: Twenty-five bottles of perfume valued at a total of $1,250 were stolen from Victoria’s Secret in the Southern Park Mall.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered Southwoods Imaging Center, 250 DeBartolo Place, through a rear door. Taken was an undisclosed amount of money and gift cards.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 4500 block of Euclid Boulevard had a shattered window.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Midlothian Boulevard and South Avenue led to the arrest of 40-year-old Fred M. Scott, 359 Potomac Ave., Youngstown. Scott was wanted on a warrant from Campbell charging him with contempt of court.

Theft: John S. Probst IV, 26, of 33 Clifton Drive, Boardman, was accused of stealing a bottle of medicine, an alarm clock and two other items from Rite Aid Pharmacy, 307 Boardman-Canfield Road, and using a box cutter to open several packages. Charges were theft and possession of criminal tools.

April 17

Arrest: A vehicle check at a South Avenue motel led to the arrest of 20-year-old Nastajiah M. Underwood, 308 E. Auburndale Ave., Youngstown, after authorities learned she was wanted on a felony charge of receiving stolen property.

Misuse of a credit card: A Southern Boulevard man discovered someone had used his account number to charge $703.49 worth of merchandise by making seven fraudulent transactions.

Theft: A Youngstown girl, 16, was charged in the theft of a $70 cell phone from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A $300 MP3 player was removed from a residence in the 600 block of Angiline Drive.

Menacing: A West Boulevard man said a woman threatened to have someone beat him up.

Theft: Cooper N. Kostelic, 18, of 2480 Ridgeview Lane, Poland, was charged, accused of taking an MP3 player case from Best Buy.

April 18

Theft by deception: A Glenridge Road woman reported sending two money grams totaling $1,700 as rent and a security deposit to someone in Nigeria who falsely claimed to be the seller of a township home.

Arrest: Maeghan C. McNamara, 22, of 7059 West Blvd., Boardman, was taken into custody after police pulled her over in the 5100 block of Market Street. McNamara was wanted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol on a charge of failing to appear in court.

Theft: A $150 child safety seat and a jacket were removed from a car in the 7700 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Domestic violence: Katherine E. Morrison, 32, of 7483 Oregon Trail, Boardman, was charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest after her grandmother alleged Morrison had locked her out of the residence, then tossed a glass at the accuser as she re-entered. Morrison also failed to cooperate with police, they said.

Assault: A Mathews Road woman was not injured after reporting she had been assaulted.

Domestic violence: Tanisha D. Patterson, 27, of 1749 Midland Ave., Youngstown, was arrested as police responded to a disturbance at a Boardman-Canfield Road business. A family member reported Patterson spit in his face and struck him in the head several times during a confrontation.

April 19

Drugs: Jeremy T. McConnell, 23, of 39 Midwood Circle, Boardman, was cited during a traffic stop when, police said, he handed them a suspected marijuana pipe and two bags of suspected marijuana. He was released on a summons.

Theft: A girl at Boardman Center Middle School, 7410 Market St., reported the theft of her father’s cell phone.

Theft: A 15-year-old Struthers boy was charged with stealing a $15 necklace from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.

Menacing: A Glenwood Avenue woman reported her 13-year-old son was threatened with harm via the Internet.

Theft: A student at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave., reported his $250 cell phone stolen.

Menacing: A Westfield Drive woman said her daughter, 12, has been the victim of a continued pattern of harassment.

Attempted fraud: A Homestead Drive man checked his debit-card statement and noticed someone had tried to make a $928 purchase.

Assault: A boy and his mother told police that while at the Southern Park Mall, the boy had been punched in the left eye and struck, causing him to fall on and injure his knee.

Theft: Leon Reynolds, 36, of 4884 Westchester Drive, Austintown, was charged with stealing two bottles of cologne from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive, then released on a summons.

Theft: Two women stole a shopping cart filled with groceries from Save-a-Lot, 223 Boardman-Canfield Road.

April 20

Assault: A Boardman-Canfield Road woman reported a neighbor pushed her to the floor several times during an argument, though she had no visible injuries.
