Ex-law enforcement worker-turned-writer to speak

Stacy Dittrich, who worked for 17 years in law enforcement and is now a mystery writer, will speak at 6:30 p.m. next Thursday at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Avenue NW.

Dittrich has been assigned to a federal drug task force, has been involved in the investigations of numerous homicides, is a certified law-enforcement instructor, and is a sworn special deputy with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in Mansfield.

“Murder Behind the Badge: True Stories of Cops Who Kill” is Dittrich’s first true-crime book and details 18 cases of law-enforcement officers who crossed the line.

Dittrich also is the author of the CeeCee Gallagher thriller series about a female detective. Her first novel in the series, “The Devil’s Closet,” is based on an actual case Dittrich investigated. The follow-up, “Mary Jane’s Grave,” debuted in 2009.
