Ursuline 18, Campbell 12

CAMPBELL

Anthony Rohan had four hits and Paul Kempe added three as Ursuline rallied from an 11-9 deficit. Blaine Lang picked up the win in relief, drove in the tying run, and scored the go-ahead run for the Irish. Josh Gore and Tony Clinkscale had two hits for Campbell.

Massillon Perry 3, Boardman 1

BOARDMAN

Dustin Corso had two hits and an RBI and Tyler Blangero doubled twice for Boardman (5-7, 0-4 Federal). John Wilshusen (2-2) pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks to get the loss. For Perry, Chris Thomas struck out eight and walked one to get the win.

Hoover 10, Fitch 0

NORTH CANTON

Hoover (6-6, 2-2 Federal) scored seven of its eight runs in the second inning without hitting the ball out of the infield, benefiting from three of Fitch’s five errors. Seniors Tony Koch, Jordan Diana and Anthony Savko all had a double for Fitch (4-7, 0-3 Federal).

Poland 11, Lakeview 1

POLAND

Sophomore Colin Reardon (1-0) scattered four hits to earn his first varsity win. Phil Lipari was 3-for-3 with a homer, a double and three RBIs, Jim Dobran had three hits and scored three runs and Chris Lipari had two hits, including a double, and scored twice for Poland (10-2). Logan Massacci singled and scored and Kevin Arnold had an RBI single for Lakeview (3-7).

Salem 8, Newton Falls 1

SALEM

Nick Lesky went 2 for 3 with a double and a triple for Salem (3-10). Randy Wyand also had two hits, including a triple and scored twice. Dan Gagnon went 2 for 2 driving in three runs. Newton Falls drops to 5-6.

Girard 6, Southington 5

GIRARD

Brandon Hunkus had three hits, including a game-tying RBI single in the seventh, and scored the game-winner to lead Girard (10-4). A.J. Weibel had two hits, including the single to score Weibel. Ryan Trimbur doubled, homered and drove in three. Alex Tietz had three hits and two RBIs for Southington (7-3), which scored four runs in the top of the seventh to take a 5-4 lead.

Springfield 8, Columbiana 7

COLUMBIANA

Jason Horne hit a two-out double to score Brad Ferraro with the game-winner in the top of the seventh. Ronnie Bovo had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs, while Matt Semach and Nick Russell each had two hits, including a double, and one RBI and Dylon DeJane had three hits for Springfield (10-4, 6-2 ITCL Tier One). For Columbiana (8-7, 5-3), Tyler Denmeade and Matt Douglas each had two hits and two RBIs.

Mineral Ridge 7, United 2

MINERAL RIDGE

Anthony Pannunzio (5-1) gave up five hits over six innings and the senior also struck out eight and didn’t walk a batter for Mineral Ridge (7-5, 5-3 Tier One). Freshman Dan Ferguson had a double and two singles, Bobby Cameron had two singles and junior Tom Robbins and sophomore Zack Tasker had two singles apiece. Bubba Creer had two singles for United (2-10, 1-8 ITCL Tier One).

McDonald 7, Sebring 4

SEBRING

Anthony Raschilla homered and drove in three runs for McDonald (9-2, 8-1 ITCL Tier Two). Mike Gatta, Mike Helco, Zach Puntel and Austin Bucan each had two hits. For Sebring, Trevor Eaton, Zach Baddely and Dakota Wagner each had two hits.

Bristol 15, Badger 5

KINSMAN

Trevor Rowles had five hits and four RBIs, Josh Black had four hits and two RBIs and Justin Chatman had four hits for Bristol (2-4). For Badger (1-11), Mike Chachko had two RBIs and Tristan Phillips had two hits.

Nathan Boston had two hits and Anthony Pennington added a double for Southeast (2-9, 0-6 PTC). Field is 8-3, 5-1.
