Mahoning deputy on house arrest

YOUNGSTOWN

A Mahoning County deputy sheriff is on electronically monitored house arrest after arraignment on a domestic-violence charge, and he remains on paid administrative leave from his job pending an internal-affairs investigation.

Willie Harris, 30, of South Schenley Avenue, a deputy since January 2001, was arrested and jailed after the reported assault Saturday against his wife, Lakleesha.

He was arraigned Wednesday morning before Judge Robert Douglas, and he’s scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on the first-degree misdemeanor charge May 12 before Judge Robert Milich.
