Sharon Regional Health System offers a free health fair from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Brookfield Fire Department, 774 state Route 7 North.
Participants include Sharon Regional, the Brookfield Family Medicine Center, Orange Village, O’Brien’s Nursing Home, Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs, Brookfield Curves, Mr. D’s Pharmacy, Giant Eagle Pharmacy, Sam’s Club Optical and Medical Alarm.
Screenings will be available for arm, leg and low-back pain; balance; stroke; weight check/body-fat analysis; and hearing.
Armed robbery
Austintown
A BP gas-station employee was robbed at knife point.
The 23-year-old employee told township police he was counting money from instant- lottery tickets about 10:15 p.m. Monday when a man wearing a black ski mask came into the store at Kirk Road and state Route 46.
The man walked to the counter and brandished a knife before demanding money from the cashier, according to a police report.
The employee said he opened the register and gave the man cash. The man then fled the store and ran north through Smith Corners Cemetery near the store.
Mobile Meals to get Upton service award

Trumbull Mobile Meals will receive the 2010 Upton Community Service Award during the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Good Morning, Warren! breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Friday at Enzo’s Restaurant, 2916 Elm Road, N.E.
The award is named for noted Warren women’s rights advocate Harriet Taylor Upton and goes annually to a nonprofit organization in Warren that exemplifies superior ethical, moral and professional standards and supports the Warren community.
Trumbull Mobile Meals started in 1970 and serves more than 280 clients, providing about 500 meals per day prepared at its East Market Street facility. The breakfast also features Mayor Michael O’Brien’s State of the City address.

McDonald board gets 10 applications
McDONALD
The McDonald Board of Education received 10 applications for a new part-time superintendent’s post planned for the district.
The application deadline was April 16. Initial plans made by the state Financial and Planning Commission overseeing the district’s spending are for the part-time superintendent to work 80 days a year at a salary of $24,000, or roughly $300 a day.
Full-time superintendent Michael Wasser has resigned from his post effective July 31. He earns $80,755.
