FOOD SALES AND DINNERS


THURSDAY

Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $6.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

FRIDAY

Heritage Presbyterian Church, 1951 Mathews Road, Poland, will serve dinners of chili, bread, crackers and pie from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Bowls of chili are $2.50, refills are $1, quarts are $4, a slice of pie is $2, coffee or punch is 50 cents each, and whole pies are $7.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at (330) 746-9528 and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Sales are by advance order only. Lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call (330) 799-0084 after 6 p.m. Thursday or after 8 a.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell, will sell homemade haluski. Orders will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and pickup will be from 10 a.m. to noon. Friday at the church hall. The cost is $5 a quart. St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $4.50 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. to (330) 755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, will sell Italian-style red and white pizza. Phone orders will be accepted at (330) 788-0025 between 9-11:30 a.m. only. Pickup will be until 12:30 p.m. Price is $6 for regular or Brier Hill pizza, and $5 for white pizza.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at (330) 747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance. Hot lunches will be available.

SATURDAY

Braceville United Methodist Church, 577 Park Road S.W., Newton Falls, will have a stuffed pork chop dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the church. Meals include mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, homemade desserts, bread, and coffee, tea or punch. The cost is $9 for adults and $3.50 for children. Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St., Cortland, will have its 11th annual Kentucky Mountain Dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu includes sweet potato casserole, honey baked ham, Kentucky corn bread, creamed chicken on a biscuit, green beans, bean soup, cobbler or derby pie, and beverage. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children 3 to 12 and free for those 2 and under. Proceeds will benefit a mission trip.

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, North Lima, will have an all-you-can-eat breakfast/brunch buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. Featured will be eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, potatoes, homemade rolls, sausage gravy and biscuits, peppers and onions, coffee and orange juice. SUNDAY

Boy Scout Troop 105 will host an all-you-can eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jackson-Milton Elementary School, 14110 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson. Cost is $5.50 for adults, $4 for children 6 to 12 and free for those 5 and under. Eggs are an additional 50 cents each.

First Baptist Church, 7 E. Kline St., Girard, youth group will have its annual pasta dinner from noon to 4 p.m. at the church. The menu will include penne pasta and meatballs with marinara sauce, salad, Italian bread and homemade cakes. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Poland Relay for Life “Team Bonkers” will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Poland Masonic Lodge, 7685 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, Route 170, Poland. Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, and free for children under 5. Takeouts will be available.

St. Anthony Church will have a spring spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the school cafeteria, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown. The menu will include spaghetti with marinara sauce, sausage patties, polenta, salad, rolls, cake and coffee. Music will be provided by John Gabriele. Southington American Legion Post 751 will serve breakfasts of sausage and all-you-can-eat pancakes or biscuits and gravy from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the post, 3145 Warren-Burton Road, Southington. The donation is $5.50 for adults and $3 for children 5 to 12. Those 4 and under eat free. This is the final breakfast of the season.

Struthers Rotary Club will sponsor a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction from noon to 3 p.m. at Struthers Presbyterian Church on Poland Avenue. Meals are $6 for adults and $3 for children.

TAKING ORDERS

American Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave., Youngstown, is taking orders for carryout stuffed cabbage. The cost is $12 a dozen. Orders will be accepted until May 6 Thursday at (330) 792-5124 or (330) 799-7008. Pickup will be from 1 to 3 p.m. May 15 at the club. Patrons my provide containers for takeouts and save a $1.25 container charge.
