City cops investigating shooting on North Side

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for a 23-year-old Youngstown man suspected of shooting a 25-year-old Youngstown man during an argument on the city’s North Side.

Police were called at 3:58 p.m. Monday for a shooting outside a Griffith Street apartment. When officers arrived, a 24-year-old man, who lives on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, said his friend, a 25-year-old Lexington Avenue man, had been shot and taken by another friend to the St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment.

Officers interviewed the victim, who said he was in an argument with a 23-year-old Lauderdale Avenue man, according to a police report. The suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times, the report states.

The report doesn’t say how many times or where on his body the victim was shot, but states the injuries aren’t life-threatening. Officers found four spent .380 shell casings outside the Griffith Street apartment.
