Miss Stanbro to be June bride of Mr. Marakas

Dr. J. Andrew and Barbara Marakas of Poland are announcing the engagement and upcoming marriage of their son, Brian Marakas, and Katie Dyan Stanbro, both of Raleigh, N.C.

The prospective groom graduated from Duquesne University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He is an assistant QA biologist for Talecris Biotherapeutics in Clayton, N.C.

Miss Stanbro, a daughter of Ron and Diane Stanbro of Franklinville, N.Y., is a Duquesne University graduate with bachelor’s degrees in biology and health sciences and a doctorate in physical therapy. She is employed as a physical therapist for Stack Physical Therapy in Raleigh.

The couple will exchange vows at 5 p.m. June 12 at The Beach at Kill Devil Hills in Kill Devil Hills, N.C. Invitations will be issued for the wedding ceremony and for an evening reception at Adrianna’s Restaurant in Manteo, N.C.
