Installation event planned Sunday for Rev. Bowie

The Rev. James C. Bowie will be installed as pastor of Greater Friendship Baptist Church, 646 Lakewood Ave., at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. service will be elder Chris McKee of Christian Revival Discipleship Church.

The afternoon guest will be the Rev. Michael H. Harrison of Union Baptist Church, where the Rev. Mr. Bowie had served as an associate minister.

Mr. Bowie has a bachelor’s degree in Biblical studies from I.T. Bradley Bible College.

He is a son of Alfred Bowie and the late Roosevelt Bowie. He and his wife, Judy, have four daughters.
