Indians’ Talbot gets first career win

CLEVELAND (AP) — Mitch Talbot pitched a complete game for his first career win and the Cleveland Indians beat the Chicago White Sox 6-2 Friday night.

Talbot (1-0) retired 12 in a row after Paul Konerko snapped an 0-for-12 slump with his fourth homer leading off the second inning. The right-hander, acquired in December from Tampa Bay, gave up six hits and struck out two without walking a batter.

Luis Valbuena hit a two-run homer for Cleveland and White Sox third baseman Mark Teahan’s error led to three unearned runs against Mark Buehrle (2-1).
