Tonight’s middleweight boxing fight between Kelly Pavlik and Sergio Martinez easily can be seen by fans who weren’t able to make the trip to New Jersey.

Many bars and other establishments in the Mahonong Valley will air HBO’s coverage of the fight.

Pavlik will defend his WBC and WBO titles against Martinez at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Fans will be able to enjoy the bout a little closer to home.

“Kelly has done a lot for us, so in return the least we can do is show the fight,” said Doug Esenwein, regional manager of Buffalo Wild Wings. “All the businesses in the Valley, because of his success, have really benefited. For us it’s just a no-brainer.”

Four area Buffalo Wild Wings locations — in Austintown, Boardman, Niles and Youngstown — and numerous other locations will show the fight. Coverage begins at 10 p.m.

There will be no charge to see the fight at Buffalo Wild Wings. Some locations may have a cover charge.

Also showing the fight are Barry Dyngle’s Pub in Austintown, Cleats Club Seat Grill in Warren, Jillian’s in Boardman, Quaker Steak and Lube in Austintown and the Youngstown Sports Grille in Boardman.

Several local establishments faced hurdles when airing Pavlik’s last fight, a Dec. 19 bout at the Beeghly Center that was a pay-per-view event. That fight did not sell out and because the fight was local, it was blacked out in the Mahoning Valley.

Esenwein said things will be different this time.

“There were a lot of other distractions last time with the holidays and all of that,” he said. “But I think folks can get a little more excited for this fight.”
