Curves fitness clubs collect tons of food
The Curves month-long, 12th annual food drive was a great success for the four participating local fitness centers in Poland, Boardman, Austintown, and Girard.
The four clubs collected well over a ton and a quarter of food and over $600 was donated to the Rescue Mission and the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
“The Austintown location alone collected over 740 pounds of food and over $500,” said Patti Wirtz, owner of the Austintown club.
Amy Smith, owner of the Boardman club added, “Curves has promoted community involvement to every one of its 14,000 club franchisees. Last year, Curves in the United States collected over 22 million pounds of food for local food banks.”
Kathie Rosa, owner of the Poland Curves stressed that the success for the food drive was all because of the members. “Without them, we are nothing,” she said.
