Neighbors | Shaiyla Hakeem .Boardman Library offers weekly programs and activities for children of all ages. Anthoney Triveri (left), Chloe Steinhoff, Lauren Steinhoff, Joseph Stevens, Sophia Rubino, Audrey Hermes and Eliyana Shank all made streamers for their weekly craft project April 7. Stevens is from Mineral Ridge, everyone else resides in Boardman.

Two and 3-year-olds came together April 7 at the Boardman Library for a morning of educational fun.

The children sang three songs and participated in story time. The activities were used to increase phonological awareness, that is helping the children hear and understand small sounds in words.

The morning ended with a craft exercise where the kids made red, yellow and blue streamers.

Children’s librarian Cherly Bellanca oversees weekly activities at the library which focus on different development areas and different age groups. Tuesdays are for 4 and 5-year-olds while Wednesdays are for 2 and 3-year-olds.

She also meets once a month with toddlers for the library’s Brilliant Babies program. For information, visit www.libraryvisit.org.
