Benefit dinner at area church
BOARDMAN
A spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction have been planned for Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Stadium Drive, as a benefit for Janice Bates, who is battling cancer for the third time.
Friends and supporters will host the event from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals are $6.
Tickets for the Chinese auction are $1 or six for $5. Winner does not have to be present.
Military band alumni to meet

Warren Junior Military Band Alumni Association is inviting all former band members to a quarterly trustee meeting Saturday at Caf Cimmento, 120 E. Boardman St.
Breakfast will be at 9 a.m. and the meeting at 10. Plans will be made for a picnic.

Dinner to benefit Lupus Foundation

The Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Chapter M, will sponsor a rigatoni dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, as a benefit for the Lupus Foundation, and in memory of Tim Peck, a deceased member.
The cost is $7.50 for adults and $4 for those 10 and under. Takeouts will be available. Large groups are asked to make reservations that morning by calling (330) 219-4669.

A spaghetti dinner will be served from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Captain Kellys, 4248 N. River Road, as a benefit for Ron ‘Slamm” Matusky. who is in critical condition following a motorcycle accident.
Meals will cost $8, and there will be live music from 5 to 8 p.m, a 50-50 raffle and a Chinese auction.
Healthy Kids Day Saturday at YMCA
BOARDMAN
St. Elizabeth Health Center will sponsor a Healthy Kids Day for the entire family on Saturday at The Davis Family YMCA, 45 McClurg Road.
The free event will provide creative activities that foster physical activity and healthy living.
Dr. Sangeetha Sethi will offer information on healthy bodies and healthy habits.
There will be resources to educate grown-ups about making healthy choices for their families, archery and kayaking with the Camp Fitch staff, and vendors of healthy snacks.
Luncheon planned for Red Hat Day

An International Red Hat Day luncheon will be presented by A String of Pearls at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.
Tickets for the sit-down luncheon will be $25 and will include entertainment, raffle baskets, door prizes, Red Hat vendors, a 50-50 raffle and a Hattitude Stroll. The featured speaker will be Youngstown Mayor Jay Williams.
