Band members hit all the right notes

Members of the Canfield Middle School seventh and eighth-grade bands participated in the Ohio Music Education Association District 5 solo and ensemble adjudicated event at Struthers High School Mar. 20.

The following students received a superior rating in a solo event. In grade eight, Madeleine Coalmer, oboe; Kevin Min, flute; David Sullivan, snare drum; Emily Damelio, oboe and English horn; Zack Davison, clarinet; Ernie Barkett, alto sax; Rollin Bresson, trumpet; Elise Szabo, French horn and piano; Mary Elizabeth Monda, flute; Michelle Whiteleather, flute; Radhika Taneja, trombone; Sara Lytle, flute; David Dalvin, trumpet; Amanda Svensson, clarinet; Julie Gemmel, flute; Arjun Subramanyam, tuba; Will Brown, snare drum; Nathan Metze, snare drum; Vickie Villano, euphonium.

Receiving superior ratings were flute trio No. 3, Logan Rodenbaugh, Nicole Dacenzo and Kristen Wakeford; Clarinet trio No. 1, Bresson, Olivia DeMartino and Davison; Percussion Ensemble, Metze, Brown, Lennon Sackela, Emma Killbreath and Grant Gullia; Sax Trio, Daniel Yozwiak, Tyler Kennedy and Barkett; Misc. WW trio No. 1, Whiteleather, Gemmel and Damelio; Flute trio No. 2, Gemmel, Rayann Atway and Whiteleather; Trumpet trio, Edmund Pilolli, Nick Crescimanno and Kyle Thompson; Misc. WW trio No. 2, Rodenbaugh, Monda and DeMartino; Misc. WW trio No 3, Maeli Foley, Lytle and Svensson.

Earning an excellent rating were trombone trio No. 1, Parry, Stephen Gant and Dominic Haniford; Flute trio No. 1, Bosze, Maria Haynes and Alyssa Kerensky; Fl-Ob-Cl trio No. 2 Kerensky, Griffin and Colette Carr; Clarinet trio No. 2, Svensson, Rachel Nagy and Nicolette Lacich, trombone trio No. 2, Chris Halley, Taneja and Popovich, Brass quintet, Thompson, Dalvin, Halley, Villano and Subramanyam; Trumpet quartet, Reed, Jaedon Tseng, Grant Porterfield and Mia Battaglia; Fl-Ob-Cl trio No. 1, Rogers, Smith and Angelina Sorice.
