Arrest made after Pa. boy found with drugs
WILKINSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Police near Pittsburgh say the mother of an 8-year-old boy who brought heroin to his elementary school has been arrested.
Wilkinsburg police say 25-year-old Chynita Young was arrested Thursday in connection with drugs found on the boy when he was in class at Turner Elementary School.
Young has been arraigned on charges of endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors.
She’s in the Allegheny County Jail on $75,000 bond. It could not immediately be determined if she had an attorney.
A teacher saw the boy fumbling with something in his pockets on Tuesday morning.
Officials say they then found he had 60 bags of a white substance; tests later turned up heroin residue in the bags.
Police say the child will not be charged.
