LISBON
Work will begin Monday to resurface part of U.S. Route 30 in Columbiana County. Six miles of U.S. 30 will be resurfaced from Lisbon’s corporation line near Pondi’s Restaurant to state Route 11. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. ODOT’s contractor for the $1.5 million project is The Shelly Company of Twinsburg, Ohio. The completion date is Aug. 31.
Drug charges

Christian J. Richardson, 19, of the 900 block of Front Street, Warren, is charged with trafficking in drugs and possession of dangerous drugs.
Police stopped the vehicle in which he was a passenger about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday on Colonial Drive. Police spotted the vehicle on Belmont Avenue with improperly displayed temporary tags and followed it. The vehicle made an abrupt turn east on Colonial, nearly causing an accident with an oncoming vehicle.
Police asked to search the individuals in the car and the car and got permission. Richardson had 30 Vicodin pills in a bag and 34 Viocodins in a wrapper. He will appear in Girard Municipal Court on Tuesday.
Community Parade
YOUNGSTOWN
Warriors Inc. will have its 6th annual Unity in the Community Parade from 10 a.m. until noon April 24.
The parade will begin at Midlothian Boulevard and Market Street. It will end at the Hope Building, 2733 Market St.
A minority-health family day will begin after the parade in the Annex building parking lot. Information about health care will be available. There also will be live entertainment, dancing, a bounce-around, crafts, refreshments and more.

Fundraiser planned

Easter Seals has scheduled its 6th annual Walk With Me fundraiser for 9 a.m. April 24 in the renovated community center at Boardman Park. The event will include 1-mile, 3K and 5K fitness walks to be led by children and adults who have benefited from Easter Seals programs and services.
In addition to the walks, there will be a Chinese auction, face painting, pony rides and other family activities. Participants also can take a scenic walk through the park.

Firefighters grants
Four fire departments in the Mahoning Valley will receive a total of $360,681 in federal funds to purchase emergency response equipment, fire protection equipment, vehicles and training. U.S. Sen. George V. Voinovich, a Republican from Cleveland, and U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, announced the funding awards Wednesday.
Fire departments receiving funding from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program and the amounts they’re getting are:
