Rebids required for train bridge project

LISBON

Columbiana County Engineer Bert Dawson told the commissioners Wednesday that he will have to rebid costs for a train bridge project in East Palestine.

Dawson asked the commissioners to void the latest bids. He said that he had expected them to be in the range of $597,672. The Norfolk Southern line runs east and west through the center of the city. Dawson is involved because part of the project involves a county road.

The bids were approximately $705,000 and under state law have to be rebid, he said.
