One man dies in western, Pa. fire

GREENSBURG, Pa. (AP) — A coroner says one man is dead after a house fire in western Pennsylvania.

But Westmoreland County coroner’s officials say they still can’t release the man’s name and have yet to determine if he died in the fire or from other causes. A deputy coroner was still at the scene early this afternoon.

The fire was reported in Hempfield Township, and county 911 dispatchers said earlier that one person may have been trapped in the home.

The fire was reported after 7 a.m. today in the township, about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh.

The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
