Ohio woman indicted on charges in alpaca death
HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio woman has been indicted on charges alleging she was involved in the beating death of a baby alpaca.
The indictment of 23-year-old Stacie Mullins of Middletown was included in a Butler County grand jury report today.
Mullins was indicted on charges of complicity to breaking and entering, complicity to theft, complicity to cruelty to animals and tampering with evidence.
Two 17-year-old boys are charged in juvenile court with animal cruelty and other counts in the alpaca’s death.
Authorities say the animal was taken from a farm in southwest Ohio earlier this year.
Mullins’ attorney, Patrick Binns, declined comment Wednesday. There was no phone listing for Mullins.
Alpacas, similar to llamas, are prized for their fleece.
